Our Fav KC Nonprofits

Today is Human Rights Day – a day within December’s Universal Human Rights Month. December 10th is celebrated each year as Human Rights Day to mark the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations in 1948.

For us, this day feels personal. We think of our rights as women and the rights of our womb. We think of the rights of American Indians and what we wrote about last month. We think of all the races, colors, religions and genders in the world, and the rights we all deserve just for being alive – for being human.

None of us can solve our society’s injustices all at once. But we can keep the fight going. Below are a few of our fav local nonprofits that lead the fight. Here’s to being human and having the rights that come with that. Here’s to life.
