Comfort Food + a Playlist

Welcome to the season of comfort foods, Nellies. It’s a season of caring for and comforting our bodies. For us, that means ritual and meditation and indulgences. And with cooler weather, fallen leaves, and Thanksgiving upon us, that means good food! As our girl Julie Child once said, ‘People who love to eat are always the best people.’

On that note, we at The Nelle are looking for a like-minded restaurant partner -- one that is delicious and local. Any recommendations that come to mind, DM or email us. We are building up our community partners - hey TUF Club :) - and dusting off our coziest corners to welcome you soon. The right restaurant partner will make everything sweeter.

With restaurants on our mind, we look to our Thanksgiving feasts. Our celebrations may be smaller this year, but celebrate we will. We are looking to our favorite restaurants to complement our meals (more below). We also just discovered Table Top in a Box for table decor. The female-owned KC brand offers pretty, themed kits with napkins, name tags, stir sticks, and more. It’s such a good idea to make things still feel festive and special this season.

For Thanksgiving meals, we love to cook a treat or two but we leave the desserts to the experts. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite local spots that are still offering holiday pie orders (Upper Crust, Local Pig, and Ashleigh’s Bake Shop have sold out). Order deadlines, prices, and flavors are listed below. Cheers to indulgence and comfort food, Nellies!
