GO VOTE + A PLAYLIST
By: Maggie Laubscher
Today is the Kansas State Primary Election. It’s a day to be heard, to take action, and to move us forward. For our Kansas Nellies: go vote today! For everyone else, join us in spreading the word. We are building up to the general election on November 3, 2020. In preparation for it, let’s get this primary done right. All polling places are open from 7am to 7pm, minimum, so you can make the time. Scroll down for more voting day details…
Any chance we have to help progress happen, we are all in. Ruth Bader Ginsburg once said, “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” Put your fight on paper: go vote. Below we have the details you need:
Where to Vote:
Find your polling place here. All you need to enter is your name and birthdate, and the website will pop up with the exact address of your polling spot. It also shows you your voting history, which is cool.
The Candidates:
To see exactly who will be on your ballot, enter your address at BallotPedia.org. It gives a helpful rundown of each candidate along with photos and links for more details.
What to Bring:
Grab a mask and an ID, that’s all you’ll need. You only need to bring one form of ID to vote. If your driver’s license is recently expired, don’t fret. You can use an expired driver’s license if it expired on or after March 12, 2020. Acceptable Forms of Photo ID:
Driver’s license (issued by Kansas OR another state)
U.S. Passport
U.S. Military ID
Native American ID
Government office ID
Student ID from a Kansas postsecondary education institution
Government public assistance ID
Tell Your Friends:
Rock the Vote has a campaign we love. It’s about not only voting, but also reminding three friends to vote. Text them, call them, forward them this article - whatever works. A reminder to vote can make all the difference.
For Any Problems:
If you run into any problems voting, call 866-OUR-VOTE or text OUR VOTE to 97779. They got you.
