We are very into summer vibes right now. This season has a different feel to it, of course, but we still want to soak it in wherever we can. Restaurant patios are an ideal way to do that. They are a space where we can be outside, support local, unwind, and fill up on social time -- while feeling safe. Below we’ve rounded up some local spots that offer outside seating and are focused on making us feel safe and welcome.

French Market

Good for: decadent brunches

French Market is adorable from the inside out. Its sidewalk patio is surprisingly spacious, the staff is incredibly friendly and the menu is always on point. Well-spaced tables and fairy lights complete the welcome feel.

Cultivare

Good for: quick, healthy lunch with a side of wine

A new addition to KC and one we are beyond excited about. Cultivare offers elevated fast-casual salads and bowls, with an emphasis on both flavor and dietary inclusivity. Its team aims to create meaningful experiences, from the customer experience to supplier relationships. Their mantra: “we seek to be a positive force for all.” That mantra plus outdoor seating? Count us in.

Restaurant at 1900

Good for: date-night dinner

For a truly lovely lunch or dinner out, head to Restaurant at 1900. It has a spacious patio with discreet and effective safety precautions. Try for a sunset reservation time, if you can. And please order the ocean water gimlet for us. Reservations only, so call ahead or go online.

Heirloom Bakery

Good for: coffee and fresh pastries

Heirloom is open! That was our reaction when it opened its doors back up. We adore every pastry and sandwich Heirloom Bakery offers, and it’s small but well-spaced garden patio makes us breathe easy.

Antler Room

Good for: dinner and cocktails

Antler Room is open Fridays 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., as well as Wednesdays and Thursdays. Grab your mask, text a friend and head there tonight. It has well-spaced outside tables that you can reserve with a quick email or call. Masks required unless you’re seated.
