My Fall Sangria Recipe…and What To Pair It With

We all love a “do it yourself” moment. And I don’t know about you but my Tik Tok obsession has my creative juices flowing! Or at least, my willingness to attempt other people’s yummy creations. So, I’ve mixed a few already made recipes and taken some creative liberties to refine what I believe (you will too just wait) is the holy grail of sangrias!

Warning: a fall beverage. But also, way too good to be enjoyed one season and one season only. Aka,  make this a year round thing!

Here’s the step by step on how to make my oh-so-simple  “what to sip while having a cozy sex and the city marathon” drink of choice!

Your Supplies

First you’ll need the perfect pitcher. I prefer my beautiful Moroccan glass piece sold at Homesong Market here in KC. I’m obsessed with its coloring and the fact I can see each ingredient as I mix. Plus, we love supporting small!

You’ll also need a cutting board, a knife, and something to mix with.

And when it comes to ingredients…

Your choice of red wine, I prefer a natural one- Las Jaras Glou Glou Magnum to be specific

½ cup of brandy

1.5 cups of apple cider

¼ cup of brown sugar

3 tablespoons of maple syrup

1 apple

1 orange

1 pear

4 cinnamon sticks

And an optional ingredient, pomegranate sparkling water

The In-Between

First you slice up your fruit and add it to the base of the pitcher. Then, it’s truly as easy as mixing all of those yummy liquids and sugars together- last step being pouring in your wine. If you’re so inclined, top with your sparkling water. This is the perfect way to keep it balanced and refreshing.

Pro tip: I also love to serve my creation with a brown sugar rim on the glass, and/or a dried orange slice on top- candied or not!

The Drinking Part

Ah yes, the fun has begun! But don’t forget the snacks.

A make-shift charcuterie board is what I pair with this sweet glass. I grab an extra sharp cheddar, a brie, some whole grain crackers and some extra apple slices to bring it all together.

Happy sipping!
